Juana Good Time? 26th Annual Once Again Lives Up To Its Name!
Another fantastic, fun-filled weekend happened again on Navarre Beach when the 26th Annual Juana Good Time Multihull Regatta took place. 109 Multihulls, mostly beach cats but also cruising cats and trimarans, lined the beach Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10 and 11th, painting the Santa Rosa Sound vividly. In addition, a timed Hobie WAVE beach class, for experienced sailors without boats, held timed races just off Juana's rental hut.
A good time was definitely had by all!
The weather was absolutely gorgeous both days, and though the winds were light and variable Saturday, there was enough to complete the distance course and make it back in time for the tasty BBQ and enjoy numerous door prizes given-away that evening. Sunday brought a bit more wind for some exciting triangle racing, and everyone came back to the beach looking sunny and happy to enjoy another day of live music and good food and drink before the hand-crafted pottery trophy presentation.
After 26 years of throwing these regattas, it's like old-home weekend. Friends coming from as far away as California and Ohio and as nearby as Navarre, Pensacola, and Fort Walton, swapped sailing stories and enjoyed the annual reunion of like-minded water-lovers getting together for some great parties and on-the-water competition.
Next year, the weekend AFTER Labor Day, as usual, the Juana Good Time 27th Annual Regatta will happen all over again! Don't miss the fun!
