League Descriptions

Juana’s is in its 19th year of
organized Navarre
Beach v-ball
leagues.
·
We pride ourselves on having “Fun”, “Informal” but “Competitive”
Leagues.
·
Leagues usually consist of 7 weeks of play and 1
week of playoffs.
·
Cost and prizes are kept to a minimum to enforce
the “Just For Fun” attitude.
·
All volleyball rules on enforced with the “Honor
System”.

|
Age Limits
|
·
League players and subs must be at least 18 years
old. Special consideration will be
given to families.
·
Tournament players and subs may be 16 or 17 years
old with a parent or guardian present.
|
Drink Specials
|
·
Registered league players wearing their Juana’s
Hat, Shirt, Shorts or Dress will be entitled to 16oz draft for $2.25 on
their scheduled or rescheduled game nights.
·
You must have your JuanaWear to receive the
discount prices.

|
Make-up Games
|
·
Team captains can reserve a court for make-up
games with a Juana’s bartender.
·
Make-up games should be played by the last night of
the league.
|
|
Max Teams
|
·
Court space is limited.
·
Acceptance to the league will be on a first come,
first served basis.
·
Leagues will be split randomly when 16 teams or
more have registered. There will be 2 playoffs and 2 winners.

|
Rain Outs
|
·
Juana’s will not call “rain outs”. Team
captains are responsible for contacting the opposing team and Juana’s to
declare a “rain out” for his or her team. The captain is responsible
for rescheduling the game with the opposing team and notifying Juana’s.

|
Referees
|
·
There are no referees at Juana’s. The
opposing teams should resolve any discrepancies. Bystanders should
stay out of disputes.
·
If play is still in question, simply play it
over.

|
Registration Deadline
|
·
Registration deadline is the last night of
regular league play, which is the week before playoffs.
·
Only players having played in half of the season
may compete in the playoffs.
|
|
Registration Fees
|
·
Registration fee is $10 per player.
·
A discount of $5 will be given to those who
register by deadline. Any player added after the deadline or after the
league has begun will be charged $10.
|
|
Reschedules
|
·
Team captains should notify the opposing team
a.s.a.p. if their team will be unable to play a scheduled game. This
team is responsible for scheduling the makeup game.

Skill Levels
|
·
Each player must declare their skill level
on the registration form and is on the honor system to play in the
appropriate league for his or her skill level.
·
Any player can request another player to take a
“Skill Level Test” and it will be posted on the Bulletin Board in the
Pagoda.
·
A female who has a skill level of ‘A’ for Juana’s
Leagues may declare a ‘B+’ for Juana’s Tourneys.
·
Ask your bartender for a “Skill Test” to
determine your skill level.

Substitutes
|
·
Subs may be players whose skill level is less
than or equal to the league on which they are needed.
·
Teams must register with the required number of
players.
·
We will be allowing teams to play in the playoffs
with 3 players IF they have attempted to replace lost players.
You must have tried to recruit players from the bulletin board.
·
Teams should add additional players to their
roster if their players continuously travel or go TDY.
·
Subs must have played in at least half of the
games to play in the playoffs.

Team Standings
|
·
Team captains are responsible for circling their
wins on the bulletin board located at the North entrance of the
Pagoda.
·
Only circled wins will be calculated for playoff
standings.

Time
Limits
|
·
League matches will be scheduled for 1 hr to 1 ¼
hour as possible.
·
Games are the best 2 out of 3.
·
Team captains should agree on one of the following
BEFORE the games begin:
1. Play
the first 2 games to 11 and be able to play the 3rd game to 15 without any
time limitations.
2. Play
the first 2 games to 15 and the allotted game time will be enforced
regardless of how far along you are in your game. The winner is
declared when “Time is Up”.

Winners
|
·
League winners may register the same team for the
next league only. After playing twice together, only 2 players who
have won may play together on a given team.
